Growing up in the greater New Orleans area, Jaimée Greenleaf was surrounded by artists. Both her mother and grandmother were painters, and at a young age, Jaimée was encouraged to create art. In middle school she was recognized for her creativity and spent two summers attending the Torrance Creative Scholars Program housed at the University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette. Jaimée went on to attend the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts (LSMSA), a state-supported residential high school with competitive admissions in Natchitoches. It was there that she expanded her art training to encompass a variety of media, utilizing the ceramic and printmaking facilities of Northwestern State University, and focusing on art studies.

After graduating from LSMSA, Jaimée was awarded both an art and an academic scholarship to Loyola University New Orleans. At Loyola, she was an active student, participating and eventually leading several art clubs on campus. Greenleaf was awarded Loyola’s Department of Visual Arts Award of Excellence in 2002.

Upon earning her BFA in Studio Painting and Sculpture, Jaimée moved and spent over ten years among three other major US cities. During that time, Jaimée picked up screen printing, participated in several roller derby leagues, served as an event coordinator, became a staff photographer, traveled, chased bands, booked half time shows, wrote music reviews, and slung drinks at venues.

In 2013, she returned to her home in New Orleans. She currently creates custom paintings by commission, sells prints, and sells her wood burnings to audiences via social media, public art displays, and online.
